How does role-based access work?

SHIFT defines three roles: owner, provider, and owner-provider. Providers see only their own schedule, clients, and earnings. Owners see all team data, business analytics, and financial reports. The owner-provider role combines both views for salon owners who also take clients.

Each role has granular permissions. Providers can manage their own schedule and client notes but cannot access business-wide financial data or other providers' earnings. Owners can configure services, set team schedules, and manage billing. This separation ensures data privacy without creating operational friction.

How does SHIFT handle booth renter management?

Booth renters are treated as independent providers within the SHIFT system. They maintain their own schedules, client lists, and payment processing. The salon owner sees booth renters in the team view but their financial data is kept separate.

Rent collection is tracked in the system with configurable amounts and billing cycles (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly). Payment reminders are sent automatically. The owner's financial reports show rent income separately from service revenue, simplifying tax reporting.

What team analytics does SHIFT provide?

The team dashboard shows per-provider metrics: total revenue, number of appointments, average ticket value, utilization rate (booked hours vs available hours), and client retention rate. Owners can compare provider performance side by side.
